  1. It means being able to be free with your words. There should never be a ban on speech, whether it's written or spoken.

  2. One of our teachers reads this aloud to her 8th graders. I am surprised a parent hasn't complained yet!

  12. I have always loved books. I believe that it up to the person or parent to decide what should or should not be read. I allow my children to read what they want within reason of course because I want to encourage them to read and have the same love of books as myself,

  18. I work in an academic library and I love to promote BBW. I love to see the reaction from people when they find out that a book they love is considered bad or banned. I take that opportunity to educate them about the great freedom we have to be able to read whatever we want.

Thanks for participating in the BBW hop!

  19. I think that BBW starts people talking about books and hopefully trying to end banning them. I don't think that anyone should be able to tell another person what they can or can not read, except a parent with THEIR underage child.

  20. To me, BBW raises awareness and - hopefully - causes people to think differently about banning/challenging books after reading about how others feel about the process. :)

Thank you for the great article and giveaway!

  24. I love banned books week. I love that people are coming together to acknowledge the people's right to read whatever we choose. I think it is great for people to ban together and assert their freedom to read.
