About the book:
In Deuce’s world, people earn the right to a name only if they survive their first fifteen years. By that point, each unnamed ‘brat’ has trained into one of three groups–Breeders, Builders, or Hunters, identifiable by the number of scars they bear on their arms. Deuce has wanted to be a Huntress for as long as she can remember.
My Review:
Not your average dystopian book. You venture into a world were not knowing is better than knowing. In the beginning of the book the characters are living in an underground world. Told from the point of view of girl 15 who after earning it becomes Deuce, a huntress who fights to protect all she knows of a home and family. When a friendship is put to the test betrayal comes so easily. Now banished to the outside world Deuce and her partner will have to learn a whole means of survival. It don't take long to come to the realization that everything she was raised to believe about the outside world was a lie.
New friendships are made along the journey to a place only mentioned long ago. Sleep when necessary, fight to survive and hunt to keep up strength, but never let down your guard.
