This week celebrates the 4th year of Book Blogger Appreciation Week. The brain-child of Amy, from My Friend Amy, is to recognize the efforts of book bloggers worldwide. Complete with week-long activities, Amy has set up this fabulous week to network, promote book blogging, and honor those who go above and beyond by giving out awards! Best of wishes to all of those nominated in their respective categories!
I had the pleasure of interviewing a fellow blogger as part of my participation in this event.
Let me start by saying it takes a special person to do what Julie does for a living.Julie Johnson is a pediatric cardiac nurse turned high school healthcare teacher who loves to read. On any given day, you can find her with a book or her Kindle reading to her heart's content. She is a wife, mommy to 2 adorable children (ages 7 and 5), and an avid hockey fan. She also enjoys singing, being with her family, and supporting events such as Relay for Life or Juvenile Diabetes.
Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I found out that there was so much to learn from the "bookish" community. I wanted to be a part of it so I joined in the fun a few years ago, with the encouragement of my new-found Goodreads friend, Margaret (www.creativemadnessmama.com)
Who is your book inspiration?
This is an interesting question! I'm not sure who has inspired me the most through a book. There are so many great characters out there!! (I hope I understood this question right!)
Favorite Author? Why?
I can only pick one???? Seriously?? Hmm....this is REALLY tough as it depends on the genre I'm reading. I'm going to have to pick more than one!!

What is your biggest fear in blogging?
I love this question....my biggest fear in blogging is finding out that no one cares to read what I write!! I strive hard to have meaningful content but if it's only meaningful to me, then am I doing a good job?
If you could spend the day with any author living or dead who and why?
Francine Rivers....her book Redeeming Love is one of the few books that I've ever re-read. I LOVE that book!
What book if any are you dying to read and why?
Plain: Forsaken by Leanna Ellis. I want to read it because it's so abnormal!! Who ever heard of Amish Vampires?? I love to read Amish stories and I love to read Vampire stories...there's got to be some perfection in this book!
Who can we give credit and thanks to for turning you on to reading?
From a young age, my mother. She was ALWAYS reading something!! I fell "out of love" with reading in college but rediscovered my love when a student, Mindi, brought me Twilight. I read the whole book in a day and wanted more!!
What is your prefered book genre?
While I'll read just about anything, I love to read Christian Historical Fiction. I'm not *real* limited though. My bookshelves and Kindle would prove that I'm HIGHLY eclectic in my reading!
